Great to see you’re interested in Diabits! Now let’s get started.

This tutorial will walk you through getting your Diabits account set up and connecting your CGM for the first time. Currently, Diabits supports Dexcom CGMs and Nightscout.

Diabits is free to download from the App Store and Google Play.

Upon opening the app for the first time, you’ll have the option to create an account with Facebook or Google. Tapping either one of these options will redirect you to those applications. Alternatively, you can create a separate Diabits account by tapping ‘Sign Up’ at the bottom of your screen and filling out the required information.

Step 5:

You can have two different types of Diabits accounts. One allows you to upload your own CGM data and track your own predictions, while another lets your friends or family see your data. They can receive notifications if you have severe highs or lows.

Choose the first option if you’re a person with diabetes. If you want to follow a friend or family member with diabetes, information on how to link accounts is available here.

Step 6:

Next you’ll be prompted to connect your CGM device. Currently we support Dexcom CGMs and Nightscout.

If your CGM isn’t listed in the list of available CGMs, please let us know what CGM you’re using and we’ll let you know when it becomes compatible with Diabits. Our goal is to integrate Diabits with every CGM.

Before you connect your Dexcom CGM to Diabits, you may need to enable Share in the Dexcom app. To see if you must enable Share, check Diabits to see if it is collecting data from your Dexcom CGM. If you do not see any data, go to the Dexcom App and enable Share, if the Share option is available. If the Share option is not available, Share is enabled by default on your Dexcom app.

When enabling Dexcom Share, you may need to send a follow request through the Dexcom app. You can send a follow request to your own personal email.

If you forgot your Dexcom password, you'll have to change your password with Dexcom - we cannot recover your Dexcom password.

Step 7:

After connecting your CGM, you’ll need to provide us with your date of birth. Unfortunately, we cannot provide predictions to those under 16. However, if you are under 16 and a friend or family member follows you, they can see your predictions.

Step 8:

Followers allow you to get more out of Diabits. If loved ones want to keep track of your health, you can send them a share link here. They will be able receive notifications when you’re hitting severe highs and lows, if your CGM isn’t connected, and more.

Don’t want to add a follower right now? Don’t worry, you can do this anytime by visiting ‘Settings’ > ‘Manage Followers’.

The in-app tutorial will introduce you to all of Diabits’ most important features. Tap through and you’re good to go! Remember, you can always tap different settings and analytics to get a brief description of them.
